How to Set Up Your Backroads WiFi in 10 Minutes

Your equipment arrived. Here is the simple, step-by-step guide to getting online, no technician required.

One of the best things about Backroads WiFi is how little there is to it. No technician, no appointment window, no tools. If you can plug in a lamp, you can set this up. Here is the whole process.

1. Open the box

Inside you will find your router, the power cord, and any antennas for your model. Everything is labeled. Set the box on a flat surface where you plan to use it.

2. Connect the antennas and power

Attach the antennas as labeled, then plug the power cord into any standard wall outlet. It does not have to sit next to your TV or by a window, though higher and more central spots in the home often help signal.

3. Let it boot up

Give the device a few minutes to power on and find the network. The lights on the front will let you know when it is ready.

4. Connect your devices

Look for the network name and password printed on the device. Use those to connect your phones, TVs, computers, and security cameras, the same way you would join any WiFi network.

5. Enjoy

That is it. Stream, game, video call, and work from anywhere you have a cell signal and power.

A quick tip on placement

Real-world speed depends on a few things: tower distance, tower congestion, your router model, and where you place the box in your home. Construction materials matter too, since a cinder block wall blocks more signal than a wood frame. If your speeds feel low, try moving the router to a different room or closer to a window before anything else.
