ABOUT US
About Us and Our Story:
Hello. Allow us to introduce ourselves. Our company has a long history without a long lifespan. Although Backroads WiFi didn’t truly start until after the COVID Pandemic, our seeds were planted by Robert and Summer Lemoine on our wedding day in October of 2005. We are lifelong residents of Union Parish in Louisiana and have lived at the same address since the beginning.
Like so many Americans, we enjoy the simple, country life. The limited neighbors, the amazing sunrises, the gentle breeze throughout the day, and sitting on the porch watching the sunset with a glass of sweet ice tea. As wonderful as the days are, there was one thing we were missing…internet.
Now, we tried the satellite thing before and we’ve even hot spotted our phones to watch TV, but you know how that goes. We need something more stable, more affordable, and well, just worth the money.
Having been in the prepaid cell phone business since late 2016, we’ve made some contacts around the telecommunications industry. So, in the Spring of 2021, it was time to offer more. After completing the numerous obstacles thrown at us and tested potential solutions over many, many months, we partnered with the right people to bring affordable, stable internet to the folks living out in the sticks all across America.
We believe this to be the best opportunity available to people like ourselves who enjoy streaming movies and TV shows, working from home, and even doing some heavy gaming online (at least for the teenagers in our house). We know that a lot of folks aren’t interested in a whole lot of TV time, but like to keep up with friends and family on social media. Some of you are wanting to work from home, but haven’t been able to keep a video conference from freezing up or dropping the connection all together.
Backroads WiFi offers more than just a dependable way to have internet down those quiet backroads.
It offers a way for your off grid homestead to connect to the world whenever you need.
It offers you a chance to raise your kids in the country while giving them access to the knowledge they need to succeed.
It offers you the freedom to rent a home here, then move to an apartment there without having to have service moved or holes drilled. You just unplug the box and plug it in where you’re going.
It offers online gaming to kids and adults on the farm. What better way to unwind than shooting a few zombies before bed.
It offers access to the latest movies and TV shows without a satellite.
It offers remote monitoring of your chickens.
It offers a way to video call with those across town or across country.
Just plug it in to an electrical source; wall, inverter in your vehicle, solar panel or wind turbine, or even a generator. As long as you have a cell signal and power, you’ve got internet.
A little about our business setup:
2005 - Forever And Always was started in October of 2005 strictly at open air flea markets with Christian t-shirts and boutique style clothing.
2007 ish -Not long afterwards, the website, www.foreverandalwaysonline.com, was created to reach more people.
2009 - In 2009, we added festivals to our regular activities, which carried us as far away as Illinois, Georgia, East Texas, and South Carolina.
2013 - In 2013, we opened an actual brick and mortar store in Farmerville, Louisiana.
2013 – We also branched into real estate investments with www.ViSoRLLC.com in the Summer of 2013.
2016 - In 2016, we were given the opportunity (and took it) to buy out one of our business neighbors and offer prepaid cell phone services to our customers.
2020 - In March of 2020, just before Covid hit, we branched into critical illness and life insurances offered through The Lemoine Agency, www.thelemoineagency.com.
2021 – The hunt for internet began and www.BackroadsWiFi.com was started as a service of Forever And Always Boutique.
2022 – The Meltdown was opened in Farmerville, LA to offer snow cones to the masses and allow our kids a way to learn what it takes to run a business and earn their own money.
2022 - After the initial “looking into” and testing the internet situation, April of 2022 officially welcomed Backroads WiFi to the scene as an affordable, stable, and much needed solution to the lack of internet availability in rural America.
As you can see, we have been around since 2005 and only continue to grow to serve the people of our area and beyond. We have evolved over time to meet the needs of our people, locally and nationwide. Our goal is to build a network of businesses that compliment one another, provide service and value to our community, and leave a legacy for our children, grandchildren and beyond.
Summer and Robert have personally traveled to and through over 30 states testing our internet using an inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter in our SUV. From Louisiana to Connecticut and back and over to California, we’ve driven with our family to explore what these United States of America have to offer! And, had internet with us the whole way.
Reliable Rural Internet Without Satellite
Backroads WiFi is a U.S.-based rural internet provider founded in 2021 by Robert and Summer Lemoine. What began as a practical solution for our own off‑grid home quickly grew into a trusted internet service for people living, working, and traveling beyond city limits.
Backroads WiFi was created to solve one specific problem: getting fast, reliable internet in areas where cable, fiber, and DSL don’t exist—and satellite is the only alternative. We are proud to say:
Backroads WiFi is NOT satellite internet.
Instead, we provide high‑speed wireless internet using 4G LTE and 5G cellular networks, delivering internet access to rural homes, farms, camps, RVs, mobile offices, and travel destinations across the United States.
Built for Rural Living — Tested in the Real World
We don’t just sell this service—we use it daily.
Our home sits several miles outside Marion, Louisiana, near Bayou D’Loutre, deep on the backroads where traditional internet providers don’t go. Backroads WiFi powers our streaming, gaming, remote work, research, and everyday connectivity.
We personally tested this service extensively across North Louisiana, Southern Arkansas, and across the country—including trips from Louisiana to Connecticut, Tennessee, Arkansas, and even California. Customers across multiple states confirm strong, consistent results, with some locations exceeding 400 Mbps download speeds where tower proximity allows.
Your location matters. Speed depends on:
-
Nearby cellular tower strength
-
Router model
-
Tower congestion
-
Router placement
-
Construction materials of your home (frame vs. cinder block)
How Backroads WiFi Works

We started Backroads WiFi during a time when reliable internet wasn’t optional—it was essential. Like many rural families, we faced limited choices, high costs, and data caps. So we built something better.
We are not a faceless corporation.
We are rural users serving rural users.
